PATIENT’S GUIDE TO BOTOX AND TEMPORARY INJECTABLE DERMAL FILLERS

Botox

Botox is a prescription muscle relaxant that has many uses in medical treatment. It contains the active ingredient botulinum toxin A and works by partially blocking the transmission of nerve impulses to muscles. When botox is injected into a muscle, the excessive contraction of that muscle is reduced.

This mode of action is used successfully for the treatment of annoying vertical lines between the eyebrows (glabella), with maximum frown, as well as fan-shaped lines at the corners of the eyes (crowsfeet) and fan-shaped lines on the mouth.

Dermal filler

We offer a range of injectable filler products for facial lines and areas of skin depression. Your doctor will work with you to choose suitable fillers to improve your problem areas.

Dermal fillers are used to correct the loss of volume, shape and contour and to reduce the appearance of fine and / or deep lines. Fillers are made up of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring gel that is produced in the body and injected into the treatable area. Fillers consist of a gel that usually contains a local anesthetic to minimize discomfort.

Feeling good is a matter of skin!

The field of aesthetic medicine includes a variety of treatments that increase your well-being, make you look younger and more attractive and create a positive body feeling.

Wrinkle treatment

Wrinkles are mainly caused by skin aging and facial expressions. Effective alleviation can be achieved by filling in the wrinkles under the skin. To do this, we use  hyaluronic acid  , a skin-own substance that occurs in the connective tissue. In this way, the skin regains its suppleness and elasticity.

Deeper expression lines can be  treated very well with  botulinum toxin . Botulinum toxin A is a purely naturally occurring bacterial protein that blocks certain nerve impulses. By injecting botulinum toxin into the muscles that cause the wrinkles, the muscles relax and the wrinkles are significantly reduced.

Wrinkle treatment with Radiesse® (calcium hydroxylapatite)

Radiesse® is a synthetic dermal filler made of calcium hydroxylapatite dissolved in a water-based gel carrier. The main components of calcium hydroxylapatite – calcium and phosphate – are substances naturally occurring in the human body (e.g. in bones and teeth).

The main advantage of calcium hydroxylapatite is its longevity, and in some cases a permanent result over several years has been reported. In addition, calcium hydroxylapatite has a positive effect on the body’s own collagen formation.

Radiesse® is mainly suitable for the treatment of deep wrinkles, such as nasolabial or mouth wrinkles, or, for example, for filling the cheek area and the back of the hand. The filler is injected deep under the skin surface with extremely thin needles. Prior anesthesia is not necessary. The tissue around the injection site is lightly massaged for better distribution of the active ingredient. The volume effect is usually visible after the first treatment. Wrinkles are evened out and the skin appears firmer and tighter. Whether and how many follow-up treatments are necessary will be decided on a case-by-case basis.
